Most, if not all of us, know the Source of our strength, as stated in Philippians 4:13. While that is the case, many do not know the purpose of the strength God equips us with.
The purpose of the strength God provides is so we are able to stand on His business, even if it means we are outnumbered and have to stand alone, which was the case for Jeremiah.
Jeremiah was set apart even before he was born as a prophet for God. God promised Jeremiah that He would be with him and protect him from all the hate that would come his way.
God explained to Jeremiah that he was going to make him unimaginably strong - “as strong as a steel post and as solid as a concrete block.” He goes on to tell him the purpose of this abundant strength is so Jeremiah would be able to stand on God’s business as He assured Jeremiah that he would be a one-man defense against all the kings and priests of Judah!
And while they would fight him, they would not even as much as scratch him because God assured Jeremiah that He’d always have his back!
Crazy, right? It’s hard to accept that through God, we have access to such unfathomable strength, but Jeremiah’s story proves just that. In sports terms, God assured Jeremiah that he alone could stop a team of basketball all-stars from scoring on him. Imagine if LeBron, Steph, Joker, Catlin Clark, and A’ja Wilson teamed up. Despite their aggressive attack, and outnumbering him they had no chance, and could not even score once.
Of course, in his own power, little Jeremiah had no chance to stop the aggressive offensive attack of the world’s best basketball players, but because God had his back and promised to be with him always, what felt and appeared impossible was just another day at the office for God - just God being God!
As you apply Jeremiah’s story to your life, move forward knowing just how powerful God’s strength is and that there will be a time when He calls you, like Jeremiah, to tap into His strength to stand on His business!
Concluding Power Thought: Be prepared to stand alone on God’s business, but do so knowing He promises to have your back always!

I’ll back you up every inch of the way.” God’s Decree.
