Life's Greatest Rom-Com: God's Promise of a Happy Ending 🎬✨
The Rom-Com Confession 🍿
One of my favorite genres of movies is (please don't judge me) rom-coms. Reason being is I love happy endings. When I watch movies that do not have happy endings, it does not sit well with me, to the point where I will be irritated for the rest of the day.
The Plot Twist We All Know 🎥
While the happy ending is a guarantee, there is a point within every good rom-com where, prior to the happy ending, a period where it feels and looks as though permanent heartbreak is inevitable. Yet, somehow, someway, he finds a way to win her back and they live happily ever after.
When God Writes Your Story 📝🙏🏽
It took me a while to realize, but my desire for a happy ending is a God-given desire. I am no different in real life - when I see those I coach and care about not have happy endings athletically, and more importantly spiritually, much like the movies I watch, it does not sit well with me. So much so that I have committed my adult life to doing what I can to ensure those I influence have a happy ending.
The Ultimate Director: Jesus Takes the Lead 🎬✝️
Since that is my desire, I passionately and urgently pray along with doing what I can to aide them in securing their promised happy ending. While their happy ending is promised, it is not guaranteed. In order to activate it, they must know Jesus personally. Through that personal relationship with Jesus, you will develop deep trust. Trust in His love for you. Trust in His power. This trust will lead you to allow Him to be the director of your life, knowing that He has your best interest in mind.
When the Script Gets Dark 🌑→🌅
Remember, your happy ending is promised but not guaranteed - it depends on your response in those dark moments. When Jesus is the director of your life and dark times present themselves, when it feels as though you have no chance to end happy, you face a choice: Will you downsize your dreams out of fear, or double down on Jesus in faith?
When you choose to double down on Jesus, you're choosing to trust the Director who already knows your story's ending. You're choosing to believe that even when the scene looks dark, He's still in control of the final cut!
The Divine Script: Promises in Psalms 37 📖
To prove this fact and not cap, let these powerful promises sink in:
The Opening Scene: Choose Your Path 🎬
"Don't follow after the wicked ones or be jealous of their wealth. Don't think for a moment they're better off than you. They and their short-lived success will soon shrivel up and quickly fade away, like grass clippings in the hot sun. Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God, and you will dwell in the land, feasting on his faithfulness. Find your delight and true pleasure in YAHWEH, and he will give you what you desire the most. Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way, you'll find he pulled it off perfectly!"(Psalms 37:1-5 TPT)
The Patient Hero's Journey 🌅
"Just a little while longer and the ungodly will vanish; you will look for them in vain. But the humble of heart will inherit every promise." (Psalms 37:10-11 TPT)
The Director's Commentary 😤
"God laughs at the wicked and their plans, for he knows their day is coming!" (Psalm 37:13 TPT)
The True Treasure 💎
"It is much better to have little combined with much of God than to have the fabulous wealth of the wicked and nothing else. For the Lord takes care of all his forgiven ones while the strength of evil men will surely slip away. Day by day the Lord watches the good deeds of the godly, and he prepares for them his forever-reward. Even in a time of disaster he will watch over them, and they will always have more than enough no matter what happens." (Psalms 37:16-19 TPT)
The Love Story 💫
"The Lord loves it when he sees us walking in his justice. He will never desert his devoted lovers; they will be kept forever in his faithful care, but the descendants of the wicked will be banished." (Psalms 37:28 TPT)
The Grand Finale ⭐
"So don't be impatient for Yahweh to act; keep moving forward steadily in his ways, and he will exalt you to possess the land. You'll watch with your own eyes and see the wicked lose everything. I've already seen this happen. Once I saw a wicked and violent man overpower all who were around him, a domineering tyrant with his prideful and oppressive ways. Then he died and was forgotten. Now no one cares that he is gone forever. But you can tell who are the blameless and spiritually mature. What a different story with them! The godly ones will have a peaceful, prosperous future with a happy ending. Every evil sinner will be destroyed, obliterated. They'll be utter failures with no future!" (Psalms 37:34-37 TPT)
The Final Scene 🎥✨
Remember: Your life isn't just another movie - it's a divine story with an eternal happy ending. All you need to do is trust the Director and follow His lead! 🙏🏽💫
